Kallidaikurichi to Manimuthar Dam: A Top Scenic and Rustic Cycling Route

To all those of you who do not know, I have been living in the rustic setting of Kallidaikurichi in Southern Tamil Nadu for a little over half a year. Its rustic environment, culture and solitude is a far cry from the humdrum of Bangalore city life. There is no incessant honking, the air is much cleaner, the people are more relaxed and easy going and there is oodles of culture here. However, even such a relaxed environment cannot keep the traveler in me quiet. And that is when I pick up my bicycle and explore the nearby nature trails in the Western Ghats, the gorgeous temples in the region or simply just explore the neighbouring villages. This was one such trip that I did yesterday. The destination was Manimuthar falls, but the forest department did not allow me beyond Manimuthar dam. Chinese brand BYD arrives in Ireland

A new Chinese electric car brand has now arrived in Ireland to join the growing number of EVs from that country targeting European markets, writes Brian Byrne. The BYD Atto 3 is being distributed here by Motor Distributors Limited, and is the first of three models to be introduced from the brand over the coming months. The Atto 3 is priced from €37,128 and is pitched at the compact family crossover segment. It is on sale in three dealerships in Dublin and Cork, with more locations to follow. BYD began as a rechargeable battery manufacturer, and bought a car company from the Chinese government two decades ago to progress an ambition to become an EV carmaker. Last year they knocked Tesla off their perch to become the biggest passenger electric car maker in the world. The company have their own proprietary battery technology, and also make their own motors and key electronic components.  BYD is also one of the biggest makers of electric buses, with substantial fleet business on several co

Review - Overbite by Meg Cabot

William Morrow, 288p, Isbn-0061735108 Overbite’s story picks up six months after where the previous (and first) Meena Harper story ‘Insatiable’ ended. Now Meena is officially working for the Vatican which believes Lucien has left NYC even though Meena knows otherwise. A misunderstanding has left the possible romance between Meena and Alaric Wolf in doubt. Torn between two men, and varying allegiances Meena tries to take the burden of everything upon herself and sets herself up for failure in a situation where failure is not only not an option, but a sure way of becoming vampire fodder. *********** As I mentioned in my review , Insatiable is one of the best books I’ve read this year (even though it was first released last year). Overbite is its sequel and like all sequels, sadly falls short… way way short. Read more »
