Sia Maintains Lead as Elimination Proceed for EHP Regional

 After exclusion 52 for the Eastern Highlands Regional seat, 11 candidates now remain in race to be declared at Governor elect for the province. Peoples National Congress Party candidate Simon Sia currently leads the race with 127, 974 votes followed by former Governor and leader of PNG One National Party Peter Numu with 113, 828 votes. Sir Bob Dadae's re-election as PNG' GG maintains Continuity and Stability : PM Marape

Papua New Guinea  Prime Minister  James Marape says the ruling Pangu Pati and other members of the Coalition Government supported the reelection of Sir Bob Dadae as Governor-General in Parliament today (Thursday, January 19, 2023) to maintain “continuity and stability”.  He said this after Sir Bob polled 71 votes to finish ahead of former Papua New Guinea High Commissioner to the United Kingdon, Winnie Kiap, with 33 votes.
