Sir Julius Blames bad leadership for Current Trend in Election Violence & Killings in PNG

Papua New Guinea’s Governor for New Ireland Province Sir Julius Chan has blamed the leaders for the current trend and behaviour of people to attack each other and the divides among others. Sir Julius highlighted this when  congratulating Prime Minister James Marape for his re-election during the first sitting of the 11th parliament yesterday (Tuesday 9th of August 2022). He says as elected leaders it’s their mandate to move out of these behaviours and carry the country forward. ”Mr Speaker our people are attacking each other, they are killing each other, our people divided as they have rarely been divided in the past and though I am ashamed to say it, there are those amongst us leaders, who have encouraged this behaviour and we must change that. ”We are sometimes the cause of it but don’t just live with it, we got to correct ourselves, leave those things behind.  ”Am not here to cast any blame on anyone, but it’s time to move beyond those behaviours and move this nation forward,” said

Japan ready to help Papua New Guinea

 The CEO and Chairman of Japan Development Institute (JDI), Dr. Shoichi Kobayashi met with the Minister for International Trade and Investment,Richard Maru yesterday in Tokyo to express JDI’s keen interest to come to Papua New Guinea (PNG) and help develop a new Special Economic Zone Master Plan for the country and work with partners like the Asian Development Bank (ADB), JICA and the World Bank to build SEZs right across the country. JDI is an independent private think tank firm based in Tokyo. JDI has been engaged by many Governments in Asia and Africa over the last 40 years to develop SEZs including China, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Tanzania and many others, and have learnt from the successes and failures of SEZ developments and are ready to assist PNG. China is the most successful country in the world, where they now have 2500 SEZs in operation, creating millions of jobs and contributing towards the transformation of China into becoming the leading economy in the world today. The Colourful Samburu Tribe of Kenya: A Travel Photo Series

They are related to the famous Maasai tribe living in the Maasai Mara game reserve in Kenya. They are one of the more dominating tribes of north-central Kenya. They are semi-nomadic pastoralists who mainly herd cattle, but also keep sheep, goats and camels. I am talking about the colourful Samburu tribe who live north of the equator in Kenya and live in very diverse and beautiful landscapes that span high altitude forests, open plains, semi-arid grass and bush land to complete desert. One of their main settlements is on the fringes of Samburu National Park in North Kenya and this is where I met them. Experiencing the Samburu National reserve and the Samburu tribe becomes a beautiful one-two combo for a rich wildlife and culture experience. World Car of the Year Awards 2023

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the overall winner of the World Car of the Year Awards 2023, writes Brian Byrne. It was in against the BMW X1/iX1 and the Kia Niro.  In categories, the Lucid Air electric car produced in the US won the World Luxury Car accolade, against the BMW 7 Series/i7 and the Genesis G90. Kia’s EV6 GT took the World Performance Car title, against the Nissan Z and the Toyota GR Corolla. The Ioniq 6 also won the World Electric Vehicle title, from the BMW i7 and the Lucid Air; and the World Car Design of the year, from the Range Rover and the Lucid Air. The Citroen C3 won the World Urban Car slot, from the ORA Funky Cat and the Volkswagen Taigo. The World Car Awards are decided by more than a hundred jurors worldwide and this is the 19th year. The 2023 awards were announced last week at the New York Auto Show.
