Vang Vieng: The Eco Adventure Paradise of Laos

There was a time when it was a backpacker’s haven and Laos’s party capital with drunken parties, tubing down the river and chilling at its iconic river side TV bars. Today, it is an eco-tourism hotspot that is known for its adventure avenues, pristine nature spots and oodles of relaxation. I am talking about the tropical green paradise called Vang Vieng that is surrounded by gorgeous karst topography in Central Laos. Located by the Nam Song river, Vang Vieng is blessed with gorgeous nature all round. It was this very beautiful nature that made it extremely popular in the backpacking circuit. Unfortunately, instead of nature, tourists focussed on drinking and drugs and a good many of them lost their lives while participating in adventure activities in an inebriated state. The good news is that Vang Vieng has rediscovered its mojo with version 2.0. This version 2.0 is more focused on promoting Vang Vieng as an eco adventure destination of Laos. How to Grow the Tropical Effect Garden 'Must-Have' - 'Kniphofia caulescens'

If you are looking for plants to provide you with both exotic colour and architectural effect then Kniphofia caulescens – (Red Hot Poker) has to be up there for strong consideration. Unlike the majority of the rather dull (my opinion only) pastel shades of weak, overly-leafy growth that seems to the the trend for Kniphofia cultivars at the moment, Kniphofia caulescens is an absolute man of a plant with bold, muscular blooms on stocky stems which shine magnificently against the backdrop of gorgeous powder, glaucous-blue foliage.  However the news is better than that is is evergreen, extremely hardy and capable of surviving plenty of neglect. Just avoid planting in areas prone to waterlogging over the winter. As a tip, tie leaves together in late autumn to form a canopy over the crown in order to prevent water from settling in the crown and freezing. I Made a Damn Musical – Here’s How

Well folks, a year later and I’m back. Last year I promised myself that I wouldn’t do another overly ambitious Werewolf House project once Halloween rolled around. As soon as that crisp LA fall air creeps in (nights go below 70 degrees! I love seasons) I am so entranced by the coming spooky season that completely forget what a draining ordeal these projects are. In an effort to stop my future self, I made it clear to the world that last year’s game was the final chapter in the Werewolf House saga (“the skullmination of the thrillogy”). It did not work. Though, technically, I kept my promise. Not heeding my own warning, I got the bright idea to look into the tools at my disposal if I were to try and make another Halloween game. After a couple days of poking around, trying out different game making programs, I realized that creating an even more interactive game for this year’s Werewolf House may not be possible in a month and a half. Even after a lot of research, there were still too m
