PNG Election : Allan Bird retains East Sepik Provincial Seat on Primary Count

The National Alliance Party now has four (4) members declared so far, after  East Sepik Governor Alan Bird retained his seat in a landslide victory this morning.  PNG Election : Allan Bird retains East Sepik Provincial Seat on Primary Count  [NBC Photo] Bird polled 127, 315 votes, exceeding the absolute majority of 118, 090 votes. He was declared by Provincial Returning Officer Thaddeus  Ulapapik front of his supporters and families at the Moem Army  Barracks.  In his victory speech,  an emotional Mr. Bird thanked his people for their mandate and promised to work hard for the good of the province in the next five years.  Melanesian Alliance Party’s Kenny Samuel Wayu finished second with 34, 434 votes and on third place is Michael Somare Jrn with 14, 348 votes. The other NA members declared so far include Namatanai MP Walter Schnaubelt, Angoram MP Salio Waipo and the Late North Bougainville MP, William Nakin. PNG Head of football calls for regulation of social media

 By Isaac Liri / FM 100  President of the PNG Football Association John Kapi Natto is calling on the ICT Minister Timothy Masiu to work on regulating social media in Papua New Guinea.  Mr Kapi Natto made this call after being a victim of cybercrime, following the termination of contract of PNG’s National Women’s Coach Nicola Demaine.  Kapi Nato  The exit of coach Demaine, who coached the victorious PNG side in the OFC Women’s World Cup qualifiers several months ago in Suva (Fiji), resulted in an out pour of critics of all kinds.  Some of these critics went to the extreme in using of abusive languages, defaming the character of Mr Kapi Natto and his immediate family.   Those involved in the cyber crime are now under thorough investigation, and one male has already been arrested and charged.  This person is known to be an employee of a hotel in Port Moresby.
