PNG Police Chief urges Security Personnel to ensure Election Officials Discharge Duties with Honesty & Corruption free

The Papua New Guinea  Police Commissioner is again appealing to candidates, supporters and the public to take responsibility for ensuring a free, fair, safe and corruption-free 2022 National Election. David Manning made the call as the country prepares to go to the polls next Monday. Mr. Manning in a statement also appealed to all members of the Joint Security Task Force, engaged in providing security for the election and members of the PNG Electoral Commission, to be honest, diligent and committed in the discharge of their duties. According to Commissioner Manning, election security operations around the country have progressed well with the Quick Response Force consisting of Police, Defence and Correctional Services already deployed to the Highlands. He also stated that Mobile Squads from the Special Services Division have been deployed for election security duties to provinces within the New Guinea Islands and Southern Regions.
