Port Moresby North East Candidate Raises Concerns of Alleged Tampering of Ballot Papers

 By Joe GURINA : FM 100  Port Moresby North East Candidates claim “cheating” has been practiced in the polling preparations. They raised their concerns after discovering that two extra boxes of ballot papers were allocated for two wards and delivered to Sir John Guise stadium last Sunday in preparation of the polling period. Ms Tania Bale They are calling on the Electoral Commission’s NCD Election Manager to destroy the two extra boxes of ballot papers estimated to be 8,000 in total. The boxes were allegedly moved on Sunday evening from ATC (Air Transport Control) to the Sir John Guise stadium by polling officials without consulting the candidates who are now questioning the authenticity of the extra ballot papers. The PNG Immigration and Citizenship Authority is committed to stepping up compliance and enforcement in the New Guinea Islands Region. This with the establishment of its Regional Office in Kokopo, East New Britain Province. Chief Migration Officer Stanis Hulahau when speaking at the launch of the ICA Regional Office in Kokopo on Tuesday says they will be working closely with the Police in the region to make sure those who are illegally living and operating in the province and the region will be dealt with accordingly. PNG Police will not allow public demonstration over Tkatchenko Saga

 The Chief of the Police in the National Capital District, NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika, said police operations in the city will be ramped up and police will be on heightened alert from tomorrow onwards after rumours of a planned protest march began circulating. Rumours and suggestions of the planned protest march began circulating over the social media with regards to comments made by side-lined Foreign Affairs Minister Justine Tkatchenko over the recent trip to London for the coronation of King Charles III.
