TIPNG Calls on PNGEC to take responsibility in delivering the Election

Transparency International PNG has called on the Electoral Commission to take responsibility in delivering the national election. TIPNG Board Chairman Peter Aitsi echoed this is a media conference today, airing concerns over the conduct of election in PNG. He said with the right type of leadership, the Electoral Commission can be able to deliver the elections without any further delays, and achieving a positive outcome for the country as a whole.  Mr. Aitsi said “Unfortunately, what’s worse is that nobody is taking accountability for these problems. Everybody seems to be pointing the finger and passing the buck and shifting the blame. What we want to clearly make a statement about today is that the Electoral Commissioner, the candidates, the supporters, the various agencies of government that are tasked to deliver the election, we as civil society must stand up and take accountability for this election.” NBC News / PNG Today Next :  Businesses in Port Moresby suffer Su...
