Former PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill retains Ialibu-Pangia Open Seat

 Former Papua New Guinea  Prime Minister . Peter O’Neill has surpassed absolutely majority with 37,501 votes on Tuesday and declared winner of the Ialibu-Pangia Open seat.   Mr.O’Neill thanked  his supporters for their unwavering commitment to democracy. “There has been a lot of incentives given to the voters of Ialibu Pangia to switch allegiance from myself to others and I want to thank my people for their steadfast commitment to the electoral process.” Mr O’Neill went on, “This will be my fifth term of Parliament as their elected representative, and I could not be more humbled or happier.” “I am proof that out of the greatest adversity and difficulties that goodness will prevail. PNG Elections : Salio Waipo retains Angoram Open Seat

National Alliance Candidate and sitting Angoram MP, Salio Waipo has retained his Angoram Open Seat in the East Sepik Province. Mr. Waipo managed to poll 18, 774 votes, to surpass the absolute majority of 16, 747 votes to be declared duly elected after the 28th exclusion. Returning Officer John Kambak, declared Mr. Waipo in front of incumbent East Sepik Governor and another National Alliance candidate, Allan Bird this afternoon. Mr. Waipo when thanking the people of Angoram for returning him for a third term in office, also appealed to his supporters to remain calm and maintain peace in the District. Mr. Bird also thanked the people of Angoram for returning Mr. Waipo, and trusting the National Alliance Party in East Sepik.
