SP PNG Hunters celebrate Homecoming with Win over Mackay Cutters 30 - 28

 They are home. They have won. The footy gods were smiling down on the Santos National Football Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the SP PNG Hunters pulled off a fairy-tale finish in their homecoming match with the Mackay Cutters in Round 20 of the Hostplus Cup. The 78 minutes prior was a seesawing affair as both sides struggled with their ball security in the humid conditions. The Cutters were first to trouble the scoreboard when prop Jayden Morgan barged his way over in the 16th minute thanks to a clever switch play from behind the ruck. Mackay then went over again just three minutes later when Kyle Krisanski-Kennedy took possession out the back of a decoy line to score down the Cutter...

New generation Kangoo on sale in Ireland

The new generation Renault Kangoo Van has arrived in Irish dealerships at a starting price of €26,495, writes Brian Byrne. The van is available in both diesel and electric versions, with an automatic option available for the diesel. The price of the electric version starts at €39,995, for which an SEAI Grant may be applicable. The new Kangoo offers a choice of two grades and two lengths. A 5-year warranty applies to all versions, with an 8-year warranty on the E-Tech Electric Kangoo battery.  Both have a cargo load volume of 3.3-4.2 cubic metres, while the payloads are 800kh-970kg on the diesel, and 600kg-760kg on the electric version. The WLTP figure for range in the electric Kangoo is 300km. 

Our Village Flooded!

Oh my goodness, we had one massive storm in the night followed by a second storm in the morning. With the surrounding fields saturated the excess water poured into the only road into the village! Unfortunately the autumn leaf fall was blocking the drains and so the inevitable happened! The only route in and out of the village was flooded, blocking only the toughest and tallest 4×4 vehicles. In fact after I videoed this even there was even more rain in the evening bringing the depth to approximately 3ft and one of the neighbours cars stalled in the middle of it entirely blocking the road for anyone at our end of the road! Anyway, by the next day it was all sorted and we were free. This is my story….
