PNG Army takes control of Port Moresby Streets

 The members of Papua New Guinea Defence Force  have taken control of the  streets of  Port Moresby  after citywide election related uprising and violence that started yesterday. Air Niugini Increases Services and Upgrades Lae flights to Boeing 737 Aircraft

Air Niugini has upgraded and increased flights on its busy route to Nadzab airport in Lae following the completion of runway improvement works by National Airports Corporation (NAC). The move will provide a new level of comfort to our customers travelling to and from Lae and allow Air Niugini to increase capacity especially during peak periods, allowing Papua New Guineans to arrive home in time to celebrate Christmas and New Year with families and loved ones. The airline operated its first Boeing 737 commercial flight into Nadzab airport just before Independence on Thursday 15th September, and the B737 aircraft will now become a regular sight at Nadzab over the coming months and years. Air Niugini’s General Manager Commercial and Distribution, Mr Paul Abbot said, “Lae is the largest transport and industrial hub for the Momase region, and a key centre for the Papua New Guinea economy as a whole. “The Boeing 737-800 can carry up to 144 passengers per flight (16 Business and 128 Economy)
