 PNG Deputy Police Commissioner and Chief of Operations Mr Anton Billie has commended NCD-based police personnel who provided security for the 2022 National General Elections in the highlands. Mt Hagen To have second BSP Branch at Dobel

 By Samuel Raitano : FM 100  Mt Hagen city in Western Highlands Province now has it’s second Bank South Pacific (BSP) Branch at Dobel, which is planned to be opened by July next year. The ground breaking ceremony was held  at Dobel Commercial Development Centre opposite Tininga, witnessed by Governor Wai Rapa, BSP Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou, and CEO Robert Fleming along with Managing Directors of Steamships and Tininga Limited. Governor Wai Rapa also assured business houses that security of their assets were important, hence law and order would be his first priority as governor as he works with the PPC. Representatives of business houses Tininga, BSP and Steamships along with the governor also thank the people of Yamka tribe for releasing their land for the benefit of rest of Western Highlands and country at large. Foreign businessman wearing PNG Police Uniform to be charged

Papua New Guinea  Commissioner of Police, David Manning, has directed RPNGC Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Anton Billie, to investigate allegations that the owner of a business in Banz, Jiwaka Province, was attending his public store wearing a police uniform. A video of the man has also been circulated on social media and this has prompted further questions from the public. Mr Manning said, “DCP Ops (Deputy Commissioner Operations) has reported to me that the man had no legitimate reason to be wearing a police uniform at the time he was seen in public. “The man has been identified and had the right to have his explanation heard, however he could offer no plausible reason for him purporting to be executing official police duties when he had no authority to do so. “Based on the evidence before me, this person will now be charged with a series of disciplinary and criminal offences likely under the Police Act and the Criminal Code. “Through this disciplinary process, that comes with pe...
