Papua New Guinea PRIME Minister James Marape has given details of his weekend trip to Singapore. In his first official trip following his re-election as PM, he took the trip to pursue the frontier breaking clean green energy deals he has been championing over the last two years. Papua New Guinea PRIME Minister James Marape  Prime Minister Marape met with leaders of Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) in Singapore on Sunday to progress the talks further. PM Marape continued these important trade and investment conversations, including those on Papua LNG, Pasca LNG, P’nyang LNG and also to get Porgera and Wafi-Golpu sanctioned. PM Marape said from Singapore that FFI had voiced its intention to partner PNG in a big way to harvest clean green energy from both hydro and geothermal sources as well as move later down the line into solar and wind energy production.  PNG Police Commissioner David Manning has cancelled the firearm licences of a Southern Highlands man and has called on him to surrender to police in relation to allegations of unlawful discharge of a firearm and threatening. The suspect, Fiebik Simon, while allegedly under the influence of alcohol, used a firearm to threaten a woman in the National Capital District and refused to surrender his weapons to police. Photograph of the suspect, Fiebik Simon [Police Media] Police Commissioner David Manning, as the Registrar of Firearms, cancelled Simon’s two gun licences and forfeited his firearms to the custody of the state. Simon allegedly discharged the firearm and threatened the woman and her family at the Mautana settlement last year and is now wanted by police. Mr Manning said the victim filed a complaint with police who have since recovered one of the two weapons used in the Mautana incident.
