PNG Lakatois Sail Past Vanuatu

The PNG Lakatois have managed to beat the Vanuatu team in the Oceania Football Confederate (OFC) Women’s Nations Cup,  three (3) goals to one (1), at the ANZ Stadium in Fiji this afternoon. The PNG women scored their first goal through Marie Kaipu in the 35th minute, and defended their one goal advantage until half time. Pics courtesy of Henry Morabang. When they returned in the second half, the Vanuatu women, added more pressure on the PNG defenders, and managed to score through Vanessa Keletia for a tie on the 72nd minute. PNG Lakatoi’s Ramona Padio managed to deliver another PNG goal on the 75th minute, and this brought the score to 2 goals to 1. Charlyne Yandin again scored for the Lagatoi’s on the 79th minute, and this saw them defending their goal mouth until the final whistle.  PNG Health Minister and Wabag Open MP Dr Lino Tom is the new parliamentary leader for the People’s Party (PP). The party leadership was left vacant after former Jiwaka governor Dr.William Tongamp lost his seat. The People’s Party caucus unanimously appointed the second term Wabag Open MP to be the parliamentary leader. The announcement was made by People’s Party General Secretary Mr.Willie Palme this morning in Port Moresby. First term Talasea Open MP Freddie Kumai is the new deputy parliamentary leader. PNG Superfund Opens New-look Member Service Centres

 The Papua New Guinea National Superannuation Fund, Nasfund, today welcomed two new-look Member  Service Centres to its branch network. The Waigani, and Port Moresby Member Service Centres were officially opened today, witnessed by Nasfund Directors, Executive Management, Staff, and members.  Speaking at the occasion, Nasfund Chief Executive Officer Ian Tarutia reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to continually improving its service to members. “The Waigani Member Service Centre is our new flagship branch, as it provides members  with the full array of services that the Fund provides.  This new facility is the largest service center we have out of our 21 branches throughout the country.  It has 10 counters, two meeting rooms, and can accommodate over 70 members at any one time, which provides an environment that is comfortable and functional for our staff to work in and for members to be served.  The National Capital District, and Central Province constitutes the largest portion of our me...

World Car of the Year Awards 2023

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the overall winner of the World Car of the Year Awards 2023, writes Brian Byrne. It was in against the BMW X1/iX1 and the Kia Niro.  In categories, the Lucid Air electric car produced in the US won the World Luxury Car accolade, against the BMW 7 Series/i7 and the Genesis G90. Kia’s EV6 GT took the World Performance Car title, against the Nissan Z and the Toyota GR Corolla. The Ioniq 6 also won the World Electric Vehicle title, from the BMW i7 and the Lucid Air; and the World Car Design of the year, from the Range Rover and the Lucid Air. The Citroen C3 won the World Urban Car slot, from the ORA Funky Cat and the Volkswagen Taigo. The World Car Awards are decided by more than a hundred jurors worldwide and this is the 19th year. The 2023 awards were announced last week at the New York Auto Show.
