 Pangu Party Candidate Miki Kaeok is the new member elect for the Wapenamanda Open electorate.  He was declared by the Returning Officer for Wapenamanda Kevin Yati after 17 exclusions where he scored 29,256 votes beating the absolute majority which was 25,973 votes. Sitting MP Rimbink Pato finished as the runner up with 22,692 while Danny Terep Katie finished on the third spot  with 16,635 votes. Leader of PNG Party and Member for Vanimo-Green, Belden Namah wants the 400 year old King James version Bible taken out of the Parliament chambers.
