PNG GG Signs Roads & Bridges Contracts

 H.E. Grand Chief Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae, Governor General of Papua New Guinea, has executed on behalf of the State, multi-million Kina contracts for roads and bridges construction for Morobe, Eastern and Western Highlands provinces. The contract agreements fall under the Sustainable Highlands Highway Investment Program Tranche 2 and are for the following: 1. Upgrading and Sealing of road from Yaware to 6km mark along Tambul Kotol Road in Western Highlands and Southern Highlands provinces. The contract is valued at K17, 707, 078. 29, including GST and contingency component and will be funded by the national Government. The National Executive Council has approved the awarding of the contract to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (PNG) Limited.  2. The book tells the true story of Singirok’s experience leading the Bougainville crisis in the 1990s when he defied orders to use military force against civilians and instead advocated for peaceful negotiations. Singirok’s bravery and moral conviction resulted in a ceasefire and paved the way for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. PNG Prime Minister Meets with France President Emmanuel Macron

 Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape says his bilateral meeting with France President H.E. Emmanuel Macron is very good for relationships between France and Papua New Guinea. He said this after the two leaders met in Libreville, Gabon, on the sidelines of the ‘One Forest Summit’ on Thursday, March 2, 2023. The Continental Irish Commercial SUV of the Year 2023 is the Land Rover Defender Commercial, writes Trish Whelan. The award was presented this morning by Tom Dennigan of Continental Tyres Ireland to Eddie Kavanagh of Jaguar Land Rover Ireland with Joe Reyfus, chairperson of the Motoring Media Association of Ireland. The presentation was at Harris Commercials during a function organised by the MMAI, whose Van Jury members voted on the category, part of the overall Irish Car of the Year and Irish Van of the Year annual awards organised by the MMAI in association with Continental.  A category award under the umbrella of the Irish Van of the Year awards, the Commercial SUV of the Year is voted upon by a jury of the most experienced light commercial vehicle journalists in Ireland, who took into account such attributes as load capacity, reliability, overall versatility, cost of ownership and driving comfort.
