The simple resting place of the last strong Mughal Emperor

He was the last of the strong Mughal Emperors who ruled over almost the entire Indian subcontinent for a period of 49 years. He was an accomplished military leader who has also been described as the most controversial ruler in Indian history. He was given the title of Alamgir or conqueror of the world. And the world knows him by his popular name ‘Aurangzeb’, which translates to ‘Ornament of the Throne’ in Persian. But, in spite of his titles, regal status and rich legacy, his final resting place is a simple and unmarked one. Why is Aurangzeb’s tomb a simple one when his predecessors had grand mausoleums built; some of which are large monuments of Mughal architecture? Papua New Guinea Agriculture Minister John Simon has lost his Maprik Open seat. The Peoples National Congress (PNC) Party candidate, Gabriel Kapris has been declared the Member-elect for the Maprik Open Seat in East Sepik Province following the conclusion of the elimination process. Gabriel Kapris Returning Officer Godfried Sokomia declared Mr. Kapris winner at 4:30 this afternoon, after exclusion 26. He said “I Godfried Sokomia, the Returning Officer for Maprik Open, as accorded by the Electoral Commissioner Mr. Simon Sinai on the 18th of May 2022, hereby, declare Gabriel Lenny Kapris, who received 16,657 votes. PNG's OK Tedi Mining Appoints Female Manager to lead its Environment Team

Papua New Guinea’s Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) has announced the appointment of Erizo Kepe to the role of Manager, Environment Department. Ms Kepe was acting in this role since April 1st 2022 until her appointment on the 13th of February. Ms Kepe Ms Kepe’s appointment brings the total number of women managers in OTML to eight.  As part of its Vision 2025, OTML aims to increase the number of women in the organisation to 20% and have 25% in leadership roles by 2025.  OTML Acting General Manager, Community and Operations Support, Jesse Pile said Ms Kepe has demonstrated her leadership capabilities to lead the OTML environment team. Ms Kepe first joined OTML as a graduate trainee through the Company’s Graduate Development program in 2004. Since then, she has held various senior roles within the department as Senior Advisor Geochemistry in 2016 and Superintendent Riverine Management in 2020.
