HOW EASY IS IT TO TRAVEL (OR LIVE IN) KENYA AS A VEGAN

Being vegan in Kenya is arguably one of the easiest places to be vegan in the world. The reason is twofold: 1) the abundance of fresh fruit and veg (duh) and 2) most everyday Kenyan meals are ‘accidentally’ vegan (accidentally here not because of animals rights, but rather because it’s cheaper than eating flesh and fluids). New Peugeot 408 arrives

Peugeot Ireland has launched the new generation 408 here at a starting price of €39,995, writes Brian Byrne. In a fastback styling that changes the marketing space for the model, the new 408 has a 130hp petrol automatic at launch, with 180hp and 225hp plug-in hybrid options arriving soon and a fully-electric one planned. No diesel will be offered. In line with Peugeot’s timeline on electrification, the petrol engine will be replaced by the end of this year with a mild-hybrid version. The car slots between the 308 hatchback and the 3008 crossover, at the upper end of the C segment in size. A long wheelbase allows generous space for those travelling in the back seats. Details which are elements of the new Peugeot branding include the latest coat of arms design embedded in a grille the same colour as the bodywork. There are three grades available, Allure, Allure Pack and GT. Driving assistance systems available include adaptive cruise control with stop and go capability in slow traff...

Donna VanLiere is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Christmas Hope series, with over 2 million books in print. Her next novel in this series, The Christmas Secret (304p, St.Martins Press) , combines the heartbreaking with the humorous to tell a story that illuminates the true meaning of Christmas. Q. What inspired the storyline of The Christmas Secret? A. I know several single mothers (my own sister is a single mother) and I watch how they struggle and try to juggle every aspect of life. A couple of those women have had horrendous ex-husbands and I’ve sat alongside of them as they cry and try to cope with all the emotions involved in that fractured relationship. Being a single mother is the most difficult job on earth! Q. You deal with some difficult subjects: grief, heartbreak, even drug addiction. How do you handle writing about these topics? A. I pull from real people who have walked down similar roads. My husband and I are currently walkin...
