The PNG Women’s National Soccer Team arrived in the country to a rousing welcome and reception by the football fraternity, family and friends, at the Jacksons International Terminal yesterday.  PNG Women’s National Soccer Team arrives Home with OFC Cup [Photo by PNGFA] Co-Captains Megan Gunemba and Yvonne Gabong hoisted the OFC Women’s Nations Cup upon their arrival.  Accompanying them on their return was PNG Football Association President John Kapi-Natto who was proud of the team’s win.  Mr. Kapi Natto says that he is grateful that PNG has achieved so much within a space of three years, especially in women’s football. He says that they are now looking forward to the much bigger challenge which lays ahead of them, and that is the second leg of the World Cup qualifiers in New Zealand. Goa is a rather singular place in India, very different from the rest of the country. Before I went there, I thought it was a city, or at least a place of rather limited dimensions.
