By Sandra Ulg : Kalang FM Papua New Guinea (PNG) has joined 15 other Commonwealth realms in celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III with a significant ceremony held at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium in Port Moresby tonight (06.05.2023) Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape in welcoming Charles III as the King for the Commonwealth countries said King Charles III has been part and parcel of the growth and development of and has  had a long-standing relationship with Papua New Guinea over the years.   King Charles III Crowned as King of Commonwealth Nations He first visited the country in 1966 as the Prince of Wales and was also present to officially open the House of Legislation in 1984. PM Marape in his speech says it is a historic event to witness the Coronation of a monarch after 70years when the last Coronation was held in 1953. He says he is privileged to have met and spoken to  King Charles III knowing that he has at heart the Commonwealth nations throughout the world.
