PNG's OK Tedi Mining Appoints Female Manager to lead its Environment Team

Papua New Guinea’s Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) has announced the appointment of Erizo Kepe to the role of Manager, Environment Department. Ms Kepe was acting in this role since April 1st 2022 until her appointment on the 13th of February. Ms Kepe Ms Kepe’s appointment brings the total number of women managers in OTML to eight.  As part of its Vision 2025, OTML aims to increase the number of women in the organisation to 20% and have 25% in leadership roles by 2025.  OTML Acting General Manager, Community and Operations Support, Jesse Pile said Ms Kepe has demonstrated her leadership capabilities to lead the OTML environment team. Ms Kepe first joined OTML as a graduate trainee through the Company’s Graduate Development program in 2004. Since then, she has held various senior roles within the department as Senior Advisor Geochemistry in 2016 and Superintendent Riverine Management in 2020. Ms Kepe graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2003....

Government asked to continue EV supports, 'at key time of growth'

A call for the Government to continue electric vehicle grant supports out to 2025 was made at last week’s announcement of the SIMI Motor Industry Awards 2023, writes Brian Byrne. Deputy President of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry Paddy Magee also asked that consideration be given to halting the reduction of Benefit in Kind reliefs for a few more years. He said premature reduction of supports could risk stalling sales at ‘a key time of growth’ in the EV market. Mazda upgrades Mazda2

Mazda has updated the exterior and interior of its Mazda2 small car for 2023 and established a new grade structure, writes Brian Byrne. The exterior changes include a new grille and bumper, while there are new instrument panel, air vents and door trim finishes inside. New grades are Homura and Homura Aka special edition models with distinctive exterior and interior visual elements. The upgraded versions are due in European markets from June of this year.
