PNG Head of football calls for regulation of social media

 By Isaac Liri / FM 100  President of the PNG Football Association John Kapi Natto is calling on the ICT Minister Timothy Masiu to work on regulating social media in Papua New Guinea.  Mr Kapi Natto made this call after being a victim of cybercrime, following the termination of contract of PNG’s National Women’s Coach Nicola Demaine.  Kapi Nato  The exit of coach Demaine, who coached the victorious PNG side in the OFC Women’s World Cup qualifiers several months ago in Suva (Fiji), resulted in an out pour of critics of all kinds.  Some of these critics went to the extreme in using of abusive languages, defaming the character of Mr Kapi Natto and his immediate family.   Those involved in the cyber crime are now under thorough investigation, and one male has already been arrested and charged.  This person is known to be an employee of a hotel in Port Moresby. Rugby League World Cup : PNG Kumuls 32 beat Cook Islands 16

 Papua New Guinea Kumuls have overcome a early scare from the Cook Islands by beating them 32 to 16 in round 2 of the Rugby League World cup match played  at Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington, UK. Only two points separated the  two rugby league nations at half-time, but the second stanza was all the Kumuls, running in four tries in 27 minutes to put themselves back on track for a quarter-final campaign. PNG's Airline Air Niugini Commences Inaugural Services to Palau

Air Niugini commenced weekly services connecting Australia, Papua New Guinea and Palau yesterday, Tuesday 28th February 2023.  A small delegation comprising airline staff and PNG aviation regulators were part of the inaugural service on the airline’s Boeing 767 aircraft which departed Port Moresby at 8pm and arrived at Palau’s Roman Tmetuchl International airport at 11:30pm.  On arrival the aircraft was greeted with a water salute to mark the arrival of the first flight, followed by a warm welcome reception at the airport.
