Papua New Guinea Prime Minister, James Marape, and Governor General, Sir Bob Dadae, will have the opportunity to meet the newly proclaimed King, King Charles III tomorrow. The Prime Minister and the Governor General are in London for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. Their meeting with King Charles III coincides with P-N-G’s 47th Independence anniversary. The day of their meeting is significant as King Charles III was in PNG in 1975 (as Prince Charles)  to witness the young nation gain its Independence. Foreign Affairs Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, confirms says their meeting with King Charles III is also historic in itself. One of the numerous books I read last year was Kristin Hannah’s Winter Garden – a novel of mothers and daughters, times and tribulations. While the story was overall very interesting, there were aspects of it that made me terribly sad. I put it down, picked it up again, put it down again and so on. As a result, it was quite a while before I could finish this heart-wrenching story. Read more »
