Former PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill retains Ialibu-Pangia Open Seat

 Former Papua New Guinea  Prime Minister . PNG Higher Education Minister Polye embarks on Restoring Power of Student Representative Councils

Papua New Guinea Minister for Higher Education Research Science and Technology Don Polye is embarking on restoring the power of Student Representative Councils (SRC) in tertiary institutions. In PNG tertiary institutions, SRC’s are a collection of students elected by their student peers to represent them.  PNG Higher Education Minister Polye embarks on Restoring Power of Student Representative Councils [NBC Photo] The objectives of the SRC are to encourage leadership skills of students and to give them experience in problem solving and making decisions. Minister Polye said Papua New Guinea needs to breed a new generation of leaders and restoring and giving more powers to SRC and student leaders in tertiary institutions is the way forward.  Being a former SRC President of the University of Technology in Lae, Morobe Province, Mr. Polye believes that by restoring the SRC, the future of the nation can be moulded and shaped properly.
