Free Giant Ornamental Onions 'Allium giganteum' from Seed

The giant ornamental onion – Allium giganteum is not only one of my favourite of all the flowering bulbs, it is one of my favourite plants of all! And why wouldn’t it be with its strongly held, large spherical globe-like blooms it is arguably the best of all ‘drumstick’ style flowers. However the bulbs can be difficult to obtain and then difficult to find ones large enough that will flower in the following year. However there is a low cost option to growing plenty of  giant ornamental onions and that is to do so from seed. So why not check out English horticulturist Simon as he explains the very simple method of propagating Allium giganteum. My Favourite Vegan Documentaries and Films

One of the easiest ways to learn more about veganism (or show your friends and loved ones more about veganism) is to watch it in a documentary or film. But with so many new vegan documentaries out there, all varying in degrees of graphicness, how do you choose the best one for you? I read (okay skimmed) a lot of blog posts about vegan documentaries and, put frankly, they’re overwhelming – who in their right minds is going to sit through 50 vegan documentaries? Why do all the blog posts mention the same vegan documentaries? And why are all these blog posts written by people who’ve clearly never watched said documentaries? In this blog post I’ve tried to be super personal, and I’ve written it with the idea that you are my friend* and you’re asking me for a recommendation: maybe you want something non-graphic, maybe you want something super-graphic, maybe you want something about a specific part of veganism (no-honey, no-leather etc). I’ve tried to...

PNG Elections : Sinai Explains Allocation of Ballot Boxes in Southern Highlands Province

Statement On Sunday 25th June 2022, we learned that one container of empty metal ballot boxes for Southern Highlands that was being transported by the PNGEC logistics team to Hela was intercepted by the police in Mendi and is currently being held at Mendi Police Station together with containers of additional nonsensitive election materials. I wish to explain the circumstances of this delivery.  I confirm that on 22 June 2022, I instructed that the PNGEC logistics convoy redirect two containers of empty metal ballot boxes from Southern Highlands to Hela and Enga Provinces for the following reasons:  -Due to an ongoing 2017 election petition, SHP was not able to access the containers to obtain non-disputed empty metal ballot boxes at the time of dispatch of strategic materials, therefore the PNGEC sent three containers of empty metal ballot boxes to SHP.  -Whilst these containers were in transit to SHP, approval to access the containers in SHP occurred and as a result the stocktake of em...
