PNG Elections : Salio Waipo retains Angoram Open Seat

National Alliance Candidate and sitting Angoram MP, Salio Waipo has retained his Angoram Open Seat in the East Sepik Province. Mr. Waipo managed to poll 18, 774 votes, to surpass the absolute majority of 16, 747 votes to be declared duly elected after the 28th exclusion. Returning Officer John Kambak, declared Mr. Waipo in front of incumbent East Sepik Governor and another National Alliance candidate, Allan Bird this afternoon. Mr. Waipo when thanking the people of Angoram for returning him for a third term in office, also appealed to his supporters to remain calm and maintain peace in the District. Mr. Bird also thanked the people of Angoram for returning Mr. Waipo, and trusting the National Alliance Party in East Sepik. PM Marape Calls on Australia To Import more from PNG to balance Trade

Papua New Guinea (PNG) Prime Minister, James Marape is calling on Australian businesses to consider importing more from Papua New Guinea to balance the disproportionate import-versus-export scale that exist between the two countries. PNG Prime Minister James Marape He also wants to see more Australian investors partner with PNG to move his Government’s goals on downstream processing and industrialization closer to realization.  The Prime Minister said this as he apologized to the PNG-Australia Business Council for his non-attendance at its recently-concluded conference because of urgent work commitments. In a statement, Mr. Marape says PNG wants to move now into industrialization by tapping into downstream processing of its natural resources.  And, he is asking Australian companies to seriously partner PNG companies in the area of PNG building a stronger diversified economy, adding it is about time Australia buy more of PNG’s products. A Cycad is a gorgeous addition to a tropical effect, exotic garden but once they get to big for their pot how do you repot a Cycad – Cycas revoluta? Where there are couple of things you need to know to get the best out of your Cycad going forward and in this video as English Horticulturist Simon explains. The first thing to know is they they do not like to have their roots disturbed so try to avoid potting regular repotting. Instead plant them directly into as large a container as you can tolerate. Secondly use ericaceous compost. Cycads are not from the Ericaceae family but they do require a slightly acidic compost around pH 5.5-6.0. Further advise is discussed in the accompanying video.
