BEST VEGAN BOOKS FOR BECOMING (AND STAYING) VEGAN

Vegan Books. Are there two finer words in the English language? Maybe, but not in my opinion, and it’s definitely better than cellar door (haha fu Tolkien). In this blog post we are going to be looking at the best books for vegans, no matter whether you’re a newbie or an old-hat, no matter if you’re looking for cookbooks, books on how to go or be vegan, whatever you like I’ll give it to you (o-er). ALSO, we’re going to be discussing the intricacies of travelling with books because this is a vegan travel blog yo! I called this blog post ‘best vegan books for becoming (and staying) vegan. The becoming part is clear – these are my personal favourites on how to go vegan – ones I used myself back in the day, and ones that I’ve read since (gotta keep up-to-date, also, I’m a nerd). I say ‘and staying vegan’, but a more accurate keyword would have been ‘vegan cookbooks’ – my personal favourites, but more on that in a moment.  Lastly: I’m sad to say that there are amazon affiliate links in this

PNG PM Marape asks Central Bank and PUMA Energy to find Solutions

PNG Prime Minister Hon. James Marape has asked both Bank of Papua New Guinea (BPNG) and Puma Energy to find solutions to the strenuous business relationship they have that is now becoming a national security issue and a cause for concern about functioning of the economy.  He said the case of Puma being unable to maintain the supply of fuel products to its customers was because of ongoing issues with BPNG, for which the country was being held to ransom. PM Marape has asked BPNG, immediately after an urgent National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) today (January 5, 2023), to find a short-term solution by lifting restrictions on Puma so that their supply of fuel products continue without compromising Central Bank’s fiduciary requirements. “I want to also inform the country and business that today, the Bank has the highest-ever level of foreign reserves (FX) of more than K13 billion – more than enough for a year,” he said. “That’s because my Government’s fiscal policies assisted in rai

SP PNG Hunters beat Western Clydesdales 20 - 10

The PNG Hunters – and the weather – rained all over the Western Clydesdales’ parade, as the Hunters triumphed 20-10 in wet conditions at Clive Berghofer Stadium. It was a historic day in Toowoomba as the Clydesdales played their first game in Cup since 2006. Backrower Sherwin Tanabi was full of praise for the Hunters’ debutants in particular, after the club underwent a large turnover for 2023. Fullback Morea Morea was named the Hastings Deering player of the match, standing up for his side as the rain poured down for the majority of the match.  “It’s exciting … I really can’t express it because half of the team, they are new boys who came up from Digicel Cup,” Tanabi said. “All the boys, they were amazing. Festival of Shivaratri from a Traditional Tamil Nadu Village

There is so much more to India’s rich festivals than wearing new clothes, eating good food and catching up with family and friends. While all of these are feel good factors of our festivals, there is so much richness and culture in our festivals. And unfortunately, this culture is not easily seen in our cities. To see this, we have to head to rural India where the people still keep this richness alive.  Luckily for me, I was at a traditional village called Kallidaikurichi in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu a few weeks back during the festival of Shivaratri. Unlike the festival of Pongal which is very vibrant in the villages of Tamil Nadu, the festival of Shivaratri is more subtle or at least that is the case during the day time. The day starts as usual with a bath in the Thamarabharani river, offering prayers at the nearby temple and then heading home. Most people either opt to keep a full fast or at least stay on a liquid diet. The whole day is spent chanting hymns of Lord S
