The Minister says Mr KIPONGE’S suspension is based on grounds one status of his Fit and Proper Persons holding the position of Managing Director of NAC and carrying out the role and responsibility.

The Minister is of the view that Mr Kiponge lacks the credentials to fulfill this duties.

In a Press Conference today, Minister Schnaubelt further says Mr Kiponge has not performed to standard government requirements, and that non-compliance are piling up, in relation to his Aero_drome Operation Certificate conditions which gave rise to the closure and issue of NOTAM to both NAdzab and Kiunga Airports.

According to Minister Schnaubelt , this brings uncertainty to the traveling public in in the country, and his office can not continue with this kind of management.

Meantime speaking on the recent amendment of the Civil Aviation Act, the Minister says there is nothing wrong, as he acted within confines of the clause as required by law.

He adds that this brings in line statutory regulatory bodies.
