VEGAN AUSTRALIA GUIDE

Australia! When I went in 2013 I was not vegan at all – I dined on kangaroo, crocodile and emu. Clearly, I needed some help when it came to helping you travel Australia vegan. So I brought in Montanna, Australian, vegan, awesome and one of the new Vegan Vs Travel writers: One thing that I was fairly constantly asked when I was in Europe last month was “what do Australians eat?” I found answering that question harder than the typical “what do vegans eat?”. I’ll admit that I think of food almost constantly. Delicious things I have eaten, delicious things I want to eat, delicious ways I could combine delicious foods to make them more delicious…you get the point. However, I struggled with this one; what do Australians eat? And furthermore, what do VEGAN Australians eat? Let us begin. 1. Vegan Australia: Traditional Australian food Considering the general lack of culture in Australia, it shouldn’t surprise you that we also lack traditional well, anything, but especially foods. Don’t ge...

Vegan Vs Travel is Hiring!

VEGANS HIRED!!! Thank you for your applications <3   Hello Vegan Vs Travel readers, I have exciting news – Vegan Vs Travel is expanding and I am looking to hire four monthly writers. 1. Remote Vegan Jobs Are you: Interested in veganism and helping people become vegan and travel vegan? Do you want to be a professional blogger? You don’t have to say yes to both questions, neither are requirements, but I have a feeling this job will be most suited to someone who wants both. Put simply, it’s never been just about me and if I want to help as many people as possible, I need to create more content. Which is where you come in. Additionally, I’ve been a blogger for the past four years (my main blog is travellingweasels.com ) and as someone who is now in the position to be able to start hiring people I want to give back more – Hence my...

PNG Kumuls Rugby League World Cup squad Announced

PAPUA NEW GUINEA WORLD CUP SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT This year’s postponed Rugby League World Cup is shaping up as the most competitive in history, with high-profile players littered across the competing nations. After an impressive win over the Fiji Bati at the Pacific Test and with the Prime Minister’s XIII all wrapped up, the dust has now settled, and it’s left the Papua New Guinea Kumuls squad announcement with much anticipation.  Stanley has already mobilised his squad, with the team landing in Port Moresby on Saturday. He spoke on the importance of the camp and the need for the team to be seen off by the country before the players make their World Cup Campaign.  “The players needed to feel a sense of ownership of the team. It’s important that they see the country is behind them, and to be seen off by our fans in person means that when they play, they can relate directly to it,” said Stanley. For some of the players, it will be a long-awaited homecomin...

FASCIATION ON KNIPHOPHIA

Fasciation on KniphofiaFasciatum on plants is not as uncommon as you might expect as it is generally overlooked or perhaps unseen within the overall density of a garden. One might say you can’t see the wood for the trees! (Apologies). Botanically speaking, fasciation is the  malformation of plant stems commonly manifested as enlargement and flattening as if several stems were fused. Any occurrence of fasciation may be due to several possible causes, including hormonal, genetic, bacterial, fungal, viral and environmental causes. Fasciation is not contagious, but in those instances where bacteria have caused fasciation it can be spread from infected plants to others from contact with wounds on infected plants and from water that carries the bacteria to other plants. This example of fasciation in the flower stem of a Kniphofia species is I believe the first I had seen and warranted an image being recorded for these who are interested in such things. I included a second stem from th...
