Sia Maintains Lead as Elimination Proceed for EHP Regional

 After exclusion 52 for the Eastern Highlands Regional seat, 11 candidates now remain in race to be declared at Governor elect for the province. Peoples National Congress Party candidate Simon Sia currently leads the race with 127, 974 votes followed by former Governor and leader of PNG One National Party Peter Numu with 113, 828 votes. On third place is United Labour Party candidate Livingstone Fontenu with 57 478 votes while PNG Party candidate James Pupune trails on fourth spot with 39, 596 votes and rounding off the top five sees independent candidate Pius Kasampi with 31, 697 votes on fifth spot. IFRC Asia Pacific Regioinal Director Visits Papua New Guinea

International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Asia Pacific Regional Director Mr. Alexander Matheou arrived in the country on Wednesday for a three-day visit. The Head of IFRC Asia Pacific which supports 38 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies including Papua New Guinea Red Cross Society is here in the country to see how IFRC can assist PNGRCS to work hand in hand with the Government in playing its auxiliary role to better assist vulnerable people in Papua New Guinea. Mr. Matheou visited the Head Quarter of PNG Red Cross Society after arrival and met with the staff and volunteers from NCD/Central Branch to discuss the problems faced in the country and how we can find strategic solutions to solve these issues moving forward. PNG's Airline Air Niugini is Committed to Safety

Statement  “Our top priority at Air Niugini is ensuring the highest levels of safety for our passengers, crew, and the public. We are fully committed to this goal and will take all necessary measures to maintain safety standards. This includes the possibility of delaying or cancelling a flight due to factors such as bad weather, security issues, technical problems, or operational requirements. Our dedication to safety is unwavering, and we will not compromise it for any reason.” That’s from Air Niugini’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Gary Seddon following recent flight delays and queries from the traveling public. PNG's Madang MP Bryan Kramer releases statement following his removal from Office

A Leadership Tribunal in PNG has handed down its ruling on the penalty in relation to the finding of guilt of the seven (7) counts of misconduct in office against Madang MP Bryan Kramer.  The tribunal called for Kramers’ dismissal from office.  Madang MP Bryan Kramer dismissed from Officer  Following the handing down the decision by the tribunal , Mr.Kramer released the following statement.  /// A Leadership Tribunal in PNG has handed down its ruling on the penalty in relation to the finding of guilt of the seven (7) counts of misconduct in office against me (Brian Kramer).  The Tribunal categorized the seven counts of misconduct into two main categories in determining whether there is serious culpability (wrongdoing on my part) warranting my dismissal from office or recommending a lesser penalty of a fine or suspension of no more than three months without pay.
