PNG Politics : James Marape to set up Camp in Wewak

PNG Prime Minister and Tari-Pori Member-elect, James Marape, says he will be heading to Wewak, East Sepik Province to set up camp when he returns from the Pacific Islands Forum in Fiji.  He says Wewak has been chosen for Pangu Camp to honour the founding father of the nation Late Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare, as he is rested there. Mr. Marape says if Pangu is invited to form the next government, the party has plans to improve the voting system and other structures of government going forward. “All my current coalition partners have given indication of the support to remain in Government. Fuel Shortage hits PNG Capital Port Moresby

 Papua New Guinea’s capital Port Moresby is facing fuel shortages at the moment .Some Fuel depots   closed and  this event  turned ugly  over the weekend into this morning with vehicles lining up in long queues in various fuel service stations around the capital. According to the road users, each vehicle in the city is allowed to to refuel up to K20 since yesterday (Sunday). The country’s main fuel supplier, Puma Energy in a notice to the national airline, Air Niugini last Thursday states that it will restrict its fuel products to the airline. In a statement, Puma Energy states that the restriction imposed is due to the continuous unresolved foreign currency (Forex) constraints. It however states that it will continue to support all emergency requirements during this period.
