 PNG’s East Sepik Governor Allan Bird Unveils Groundbreaking Initiative to Create 400,000 Jobs and Attract Billions in Investment for Sepik Province On Monday, 13th February 2023, Governor Allan Bird announced a major development initiative for Sepik Province, aimed at creating jobs and transforming society. The initiative, which will be the largest in the history of Sepik Province, will focus on five key areas: land mobilization to create jobs, the Mengar International Port, building Local Level Government (LLG) capacity, labor mobility to Australia, and the continuation of restoring core services. The provincial budget, which is set to be passed this week, will be centered around this initiative and its goals.
