PM Marape Calls on Australia To Import more from PNG to balance Trade

Papua New Guinea (PNG) Prime Minister, James Marape is calling on Australian businesses to consider importing more from Papua New Guinea to balance the disproportionate import-versus-export scale that exist between the two countries. PNG Prime Minister James Marape He also wants to see more Australian investors partner with PNG to move his Government’s goals on downstream processing and industrialization closer to realization.  The Prime Minister said this as he apologized to the PNG-Australia Business Council for his non-attendance at its recently-concluded conference because of urgent work commitments. PNG Election Security debrief outcome to be put to Government says Manning

 PNG Police Commissioner David Manning said the 2022 joint security forces election debrief outcome will be presented to the Government through the Internal Security Minister for deliberations. Commissioner Manning made this undertaking during the joint security forces election debrief conference closing ceremony on Wednesday October 19, in Lae, Morobe Province. Mr Manning said, “From a security perspective we were able to deliver a successful security operation. Many of our views and concerns were cross-cutting issues involving all agencies. PM Marape launches the 16th PNG Chamber of Mines & Petroleum Conference 2022 in Sydney, Australia

The PNG Chamber of Mines & Petroleum Conference 2022 officially commenced today in Sydney, Australia. About 1200 delegates are in attendance with many corporate organizations including the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) participating as exhibitors. Prime Minister Hon James Marape when delivering his keynote speech, said Papua New Guinea like many other countries in the world has its own share of challenges when it comes to investment and business, but investors should not be discouraged by this situation.
