PNG Elections : Extra Security Deployed to Hotspots Areas in Southern Highlands

 Polling in some parts of Southern Highlands commenced today, while polling in some districts in the province started yesterday. Election Manager and Provincial Returning Officer, Alwin Jimmy said the Police Commissioner has directed his office to delay polling in what he termed as “hotspot areas” for extra police security during polling. Air Niugini Increases Services and Upgrades Lae flights to Boeing 737 Aircraft

Air Niugini has upgraded and increased flights on its busy route to Nadzab airport in Lae following the completion of runway improvement works by National Airports Corporation (NAC). The move will provide a new level of comfort to our customers travelling to and from Lae and allow Air Niugini to increase capacity especially during peak periods, allowing Papua New Guineans to arrive home in time to celebrate Christmas and New Year with families and loved ones. The airline operated its first Boeing 737 commercial flight into Nadzab airport just before Independence on Thursday 15th September, and the B737 aircraft will now become a regular sight at Nadzab over the coming months and years. PNG Police to announce major reshuffle in the Constabulary

 Police Commissioner David Manning has announced that a major Police reshuffle will be made soon based on individual performances of police officers. Commissioner Manning made this announcement during the 2022 National General Election Debrief Conference held in Lae, Morobe Province last week. The conference was attended by Deputy Commissioner Operation Anton Billie, Deputy Commissioner Administration Joanne Clarkson, acting Deputy Commissioner Specialist Operations Donald Yamasombi, Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Bougainville Police Service Francis Tokura, all Assistant Commissioners, Divisional and Provincial Police Commanders and Directors of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.
