Acting PM Rosso outlines importance of PNG Prime Minister Marape’s attendance at PIF

The footy gods were smiling down on the Santos National Football Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the SP PNG Hunters pulled off a fairy-tale finish in their homecoming match with the Mackay Cutters in Round 20 of the Hostplus Cup. Air Niugini Suspends Flights to Kieta in AROB

Air Niugini has advised the travelling public that due to the deteriorating condition of the runway surface at Aropa Airport, Autonomous Region Of Bougainville (AROB), all services to Kieta have been suspended until further notice. Passengers with tickets for Kieta may reroute them to/from Buka at no additional costs, rebook for a later date, or apply for a refund. Air Niugini regrets any inconvenience caused to our customers, however the situation is outside the airline’s control.  Safety is always of paramount importance in our operations. PNG's Eastern Highlands Capital Goroka remains Tense following murder of the Country's Ports CEO

 The situation in Goroka is tense at the moment following the murder of late Chief Executive Officer of PNG Ports Corporation, Late Mr Fego Kiniafa.  The tribesmen of the Late Fego Kiniafa took to the streets of Goroka this morning to show their frustration, armed with Bush knives, following the murder of one of their elite son. The tribesmen even burnt down a few houses.  Police on the ground are doing their best to manage the situation while all businesses are closed for safety reasons.  Eastern Highlands Provincial Police Commander Michael Welly said police investigations are underway.  Meanwhile, the PNG Ports Corporation Limited Board have released a statement on the appointment of Mr Rodney Begley as Acting CEO of the State-Owned Enterprise.  PNG Ports Board Chairman Kepas Wali, in a statement says the acting-appointment of Mr Begley comes following the passing of the late Fego Kiniafa who was reported to have been murdered in Goroka on Saturday.  Mr Wali says the matter is now i...

VW Group Ireland does deal with Cork charger company

The Ohme supplier of home EV charging units has done a deal with Volkswagen in Ireland as the recommended charging partner for VW customers, writes Brian Byrne. The agreement with the Cork-based company applies across all the carmaker’s brands here, including Audi, Skoda, Cupra, SEAT and Volkswagen Commercials. The Ohme systems allow EV owners to take advantage of off-peak electricity prices in Ireland, as well as being able to operate when renewable energy is at its highest in the grid, thus enabling lower real emissions.
