PNG Elections : Salio Waipo retains Angoram Open Seat

National Alliance Candidate and sitting Angoram MP, Salio Waipo has retained his Angoram Open Seat in the East Sepik Province. Mr. Waipo managed to poll 18, 774 votes, to surpass the absolute majority of 16, 747 votes to be declared duly elected after the 28th exclusion. Returning Officer John Kambak, declared Mr. Waipo in front of incumbent East Sepik Governor and another National Alliance candidate, Allan Bird this afternoon. Mr. Waipo when thanking the people of Angoram for returning him for a third term in office, also appealed to his supporters to remain calm and maintain peace in the District. Mr. Bird also thanked the people of Angoram for returning Mr. Waipo, and trusting the National Alliance Party in East Sepik. Five Members of Criminal Gang Killed by Vigilant Locals in PNG's Goilala

Five members of a criminal gang responsible for hurling a grenade that killed two men in Goilala, PNG’s central province were ambushed and killed in a retaliatory attack in December, PNG Police say.  Acting Provincal Police Commander of Central Province Senior Inspector Patterson Birigi said the five suspects were slain by angry relatives of the bomb victims, who went after and found them holed up in a remote village in Fane LLG. PNG PM Marape Opens ESP Specialist Hospital

Papua New Guiena Prime Minister James Marape, MP officially opened the East Sepik Provincial Specialist Hospital today in WewaK, East Sepik Province. Prime Minister Marape said in 2022, the National Government made a decision to build provincial hospitals around the country in the 22 Provinces and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. “We made that decision after COVID-19 shutdown the country and revealed to us that we had only 44 beds with inbuilt oxygen valves in the whole country,” he said. “Another thing was that Health and the economy go hand in hand. Range Rover revises Velar

Range Rover have revised their Velar model, a mid-size in the luxury brand’s range, writes Brian Byrne. Externally there’s a new grille, and newly-styled LED headlights, and there have been detail changes to the rear including a new bumper. Inside the car gets a new single centre console-located touchscreen in curved glass. Powertrains continue to be options from petrol and diesel, with mild hybrid technology and a plug-in hybrid that is rated to have a greater EV range of up to 64km. That version has a combined power output of 404hp. The revised car is now available to order in Ireland priced from €91,680.
