Budapest: some (okay me) say it’s where the East meets the West and the North meets the South. European wise anyway. Although it’s a country that’s in a long-term polyamorous relationship with both pork and sour-cream, Budapest is shockingly great for vegans and vegetarians. There are over 23 pure vegan restaurants, there’s plenty of vegan options in the supermarkets and they even have a whole vegan garden. And, it has the added bonus of being a rather cheap holiday destination – if you’re coming from the West at least anyway. Add to that gorgeous architecture and hot thermal baths and you can maybe see why I love Budapest. With over 23 vegan restaurants to choose from, you might feel a little overwhelmed with the choice.
