PNG's OK Tedi Mining Appoints Female Manager to lead its Environment Team

Papua New Guinea’s Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) has announced the appointment of Erizo Kepe to the role of Manager, Environment Department. Ms Kepe was acting in this role since April 1st 2022 until her appointment on the 13th of February. Ms Kepe Ms Kepe’s appointment brings the total number of women managers in OTML to eight.  As part of its Vision 2025, OTML aims to increase the number of women in the organisation to 20% and have 25% in leadership roles by 2025.  OTML Acting General Manager, Community and Operations Support, Jesse Pile said Ms Kepe has demonstrated her leadership capabilities to lead the OTML environment team. Ms Kepe first joined OTML as a graduate trainee through the Company’s Graduate Development program in 2004. Since then, she has held various senior roles within the department as Senior Advisor Geochemistry in 2016 and Superintendent Riverine Management in 2020. Helicopter crash lands in PNG's Enga Province

A helicopter belonging to Heli Solutions, crash landed at Kuimimanda, in the Kaikin Pausa area of the Wapenamanda District of Enga Province, Papua New Guinea  today.  The helicopter was flown by retired army colonel, Captain Charlie Andrews.  Captain Andrews, when speaking to NBC News in Mount Hagen, said that he was returning from Enopi in the jungles of the Laigaim District of Enga and East Sepik Province, after dropping off some medical supplies. He said that he had a total of 6 passengers including himself, and this included two patients and their two care takers, his load master and himself.  Captain Andrews said that they were travelling back from Enopi, when a mechanical fault struck the back propeller, and this forced him to crash land on top of a garden. He also thanked members of the Mobile Squad 11 and Military Personnel, who were able to rescue them, and transported them to Mt. Hagen for medical checks. PNG joins 15 other Nations in Celebration as King Charles III Crowned as King of Commonwealth Nations

By Sandra Ulg : Kalang FM Papua New Guinea (PNG) has joined 15 other Commonwealth realms in celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III with a significant ceremony held at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium in Port Moresby tonight (06.05.2023) Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape in welcoming Charles III as the King for the Commonwealth countries said King Charles III has been part and parcel of the growth and development of and has  had a long-standing relationship with Papua New Guinea over the years.   King Charles III Crowned as King of Commonwealth Nations He first visited the country in 1966 as the Prince of Wales and was also present to officially open the House of Legislation in 1984. PM Marape in his speech says it is a historic event to witness the Coronation of a monarch after 70years when the last Coronation was held in 1953. He says he is privileged to have met and spoken to  King Charles III knowing that he has at heart the Commonwealth nations throughout the world.

His quiet cousin, stepmother, and young half-brother seem openly disappointed that he survived the wars.  And when he begins to fall for his half-brother’s sweetheart, his chilly reception goes from unfriendly to positively murderous. Yes, this is a sort of a murder mystery, my dear Heyer fans. Or rather attempted murder, I should say (that’s not a spoiler, for I’m sure you guessed the hero can’t be murdered – right?). I feel the real mystery lies in the romance part of it, for till the end the reader is left wondering who exactly will end up with whom. Not at all the usual sort of fare we’ve come to expect from this wonderful romance author of yester years, but one which she writes surprisingly well. Read more »
