Air Niugini Suspends Flights to Kagamuga Airport , Mt Hagen

Air Niugini  has announced that  the airline has suspended all flights to Kagamuga airport, Mt Hagen today due to civil unrest. The airline’s decision to suspend flights was made after it received a Notice to Pilots(NOTAM), consequently forcing the cancellation of all five flights today. Air Niugini will continue to closely monitor the situation and will resume operations as soon as it is safe, including withdrawal of the NOTAM.  Passengers who had purchased tickets for the flights that were cancelled can revalidate their travel for the next available flight. Air Niugini regrets the inconvenience caused to our passengers however the situation is beyond the airline’s control.  Safety is always of paramount importance in our operations. PNG Elections : Eight (8) Seats declared so far

 Below are the seats declared so far for the PNG National Elections.   The ruling party PANGU leads with five (5) declared  MPs, followed by Peoples National Congress PNC with two and the United Resource Party with a single MP.  PANGU PATI  1. Pangu Party Candidate Miki Kaeok unseats Rimbink Pato

 Pangu Party Candidate Miki Kaeok is the new member elect for the Wapenamanda Open electorate.  He was declared by the Returning Officer for Wapenamanda Kevin Yati after 17 exclusions where he scored 29,256 votes beating the absolute majority which was 25,973 votes. Sitting MP Rimbink Pato finished as the runner up with 22,692 while Danny Terep Katie finished on the third spot  with 16,635 votes.
